NAMD Requests Extension of Medicaid Provider Relief Fund Application Period
On July 13, 2020, NAMD sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar requesting that Medicaid providers be given an extension to apply for the Provider Relief Fund.
The Provider Relief Fund (PRF) provides financial support to healthcare providers who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the letter, NAMD identified policy and technical issues that may have resulted in a lower-than-expected volume of applications. Due to these issues, NAMD requested that Medicaid providers are given an extension of at least two months to apply to the PRF and that state Medicaid programs are given data on PRF applicants to support targeted outreach to eligible providers.
