The end of the year is a time of reflection and taking stock of how we’ve spent our hours, days, and weeks over the last year. Where we invest our time, which is a limited quantity, reflects our values, interests and obligations.
Several Medicaid directors took a few minutes during this season to reflect on and share what motivates them to serve in this role where they spend so much of their time.
If you have a few minutes – 7.41, to be exact – I highly recommend spending some of your time listening to their words in the video below. You’ll hear directors from all over the country – Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin – talk about why they do this work. For some, they are responding to a calling. Some mention improving the lives of others in tangible and immediate ways. Some prioritize investing in invaluable partnerships, while others talk about being an engine for good. All of them reflect on how Medicaid supports millions of people in living their best lives.
So lift your spirits in this season of reflection and gratitude, and spend a few minutes today hearing from these wonderful people. I promise it will be well worth it!
Wishing you a safe and peaceful holiday – and here’s to 2022!
