In February 2018, NAMD provided a response to the Senate Finance Committee’s Request for Information on effective responses to the ongoing opioid epidemic. NAMD called on Congress to repeal the Medicaid Institutions for Mental Disease exclusion, align substance use disorder privacy rules with other health care privacy rules, and make additional investments in state treatment infrastructure.
