NAMD Provides Comments on Proposed Permanent Authorization of Duals Plans
In April 2018, NAMD provided comments supporting an ambitious federal standard for Medicaid integration of Duals Special Needs Plans, which cover people eligible for Medicare and medical assistance from a state plan under Medicaid, as a condition of permanent authorization in the Medicare Advantage program.

Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans enroll individuals who are entitled to both Medicare and medical assistance from a state plan under Medicaid. These plans present a viable platform for states to scale integration activities for this vulnerable population, and NAMD supported proposals to keep this option permanently available.
