In this Medicaid Leadership Exchange podcast, West Virginia Medicaid Director  Cindy Beane and former Kentucky Medicaid Director  Carol Steckel discuss efforts to establish cross-agency collaboration between Medicaid and Child Welfare Division to better serve the needs of children and families. They discuss innovative care delivery models that use a single, specialized managed care organization to serve the needs of children in foster care. In both states a shared language, aligned staff, and “cultures of safety” build bridges between the two divisions.

The conversation is moderated by Gretchen Hammer, senior strategic advisor to the National Association of Medicaid Directors, with insights from Mark Larson senior vice president of leadership and capacity building at the Center for Health Care Strategies.
