NAMD Expresses Support and Notes Potential Unintended Consequences of Managed Care Rule Revisions

In 2019, NAMD responded to proposed changes to Medicaid managed care rules, broadly supporting most changes and noting potential unintended consequences for select policies.

In late 2018, the Centers for Medicaid and CHIP Services proposed targeted revisions to Medicaid managed care rules. In this letter, NAMD indicates areas of support for these proposed changes, such as removal of mandatory time and distance standards, and notes potential consequences of language around cost-shifting to the federal government.
