On April 14, NAMD submitted comments on CMS’ proposed rule, Disclosures of Ownership and Additional Disclosable Parties Information for Skilled Nursing Facilities and Nursing Facilities, which would require nursing homes enrolled in Medicaid to disclose additional information about their ownership and management, including ownership by private equity companies or real estate investment trusts.
NAMD supports this proposal. Additional transparency around nursing facility ownership would support Medicaid Directors’ efforts to evaluate safety, quality-of-care, and financial stability in these facilities. You can find our full comments here.
