Specifically, NAMD, ADvancing States, and NASDDDS called for a one-year delay in the deadline for implementing Electronic Visit Verification for personal care and home healthcare services. In a separate letter, NAMD and ADvancing States also requested a one-year extension of the transition period for the HCBS settings rule. Although states worked diligently to meet these deadlines, the COVID-19 pandemic has put immense operational strain on Medicaid agencies.
