The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act created a Provider Relief Fund (PRF) to help mitigate the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare providers. NAMD sent a letter to HHS Secretary Alex Azar requesting that HHS partner with state Medicaid agencies to quickly distribute funds to Medicaid providers, who serve the nation’s most vulnerable populations and who generally operate under slimmer financial margins than other providers. Additionally, NAMD requested that HHS share critical data with states on Medicaid providers that may be at risk of closure, to ensure that state-level provider relief efforts are appropriately targeted.
