In December 2016, NAMD sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requesting targeted flexibilities for providing services in Institutions for Mental Disease in managed care delivery systems. NAMD requested targeted rate recoupments for stays beyond 15 days and targeted exceptions to the 15-day limit in managed care regulations.
