On November 13, NAMD formally commented on HHS’s proposed rule reinterpreting Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which addresses discrimination on the basis of disability.

Medicaid Directors are strongly committed to preventing discrimination on the basis of disability. In our comments, NAMD calls on Congress and the Administration to facilitate expansion of home and community-based services (HCBS) by providing additional resources and federal flexibilities. We also highlight challenges with high prescription drug costs and urge HHS to ensure that Medicaid agencies can continue using academic research when making coverage decisions and negotiating supplemental rebates.
