NAMD Comments on Community Engagement Requirement for Certain Individuals Interim Final Rule With Comment

On July 31, 2026, NAMD submitted comments on CMS’ interim final rule with comment (IFC), Community Engagement Requirement for Certain Individuals.

As the entities directly responsible for operationalizing the rule, Medicaid agencies are uniquely positioned to provide CMS with operational insights to help inform technical assistance and, where necessary, further policy clarity. As the nonpartisan professional association for all 56 Medicaid programs, NAMD’s comments focus on the operational, administrative, and implementation considerations Medicaid agencies have identified through forums facilitated by NAMD.
