Scott Partika was appointed by Governor Mike DeWine in October 2025 to serve as Director of the Ohio Department of Medicaid. With a deep rooted commitment to public service and extensive experience in health and human services policy, Partika brings a strategic and data-driven approach to leading the state agency.
A native of the Mahoning Valley, Partika began his tenure in the Governor’s Office in 2020 as Assistant Policy Director for Human Services. In this role, he oversaw policy development for a broad portfolio of agencies, including Medicaid, Aging, Mental Health & Addiction Services, Health, Veterans Services, Developmental Disabilities, Insurance, and Job and Family Services. From there, he was tapped to serve the Administration as the Governor’s Policy Director, where he continued to drive statewide strategies aimed at enhancing quality of life, health outcomes and improving service delivery for all Ohioans.
As Director of Medicaid, Partika is focused on ensuring high-quality care for Ohio’s most vulnerable populations, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and fostering innovation and transparency across the department. His appointment reflects a continued vision for advancing health outcomes for Ohioans and operational excellence in Ohio’s Medicaid system
