Eunice Medina serves as the director of the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS), a role to which she was nominated on November 6, 2024, by Governor Henry McMaster and confirmed by the South Carolina Senate. She previously served as SCDHHS’s chief of staff and deputy director of programs beginning in June 2021. With more than 20 years of experience in Medicaid policy and operations, Medina has held key leadership positions, including bureau chief with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, where she oversaw Florida’s 18 Medicaid managed care plans and worked extensively with home and community-based services waiver programs.
