The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted important questions about the ability of the U.S. healthcare system to respond to emergencies and disruptions. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently released a Request for Information on policy approaches to improve the resiliency of the health care system. NAMD’s response outlines guiding principles for improving the resiliency of the healthcare system, including centering individuals and their experiences, creating stronger alignment across payers, and enhancing partnerships between federal and state health systems.
