On March 20, NAMD highlighted our previous positions on the health care workforce in response to a Senate HELP Committee request for information. Our comments underscore the existential threat that workforce shortages pose to the Medicaid program; without providers to deliver care, Medicaid agencies cannot create access to services for their members. We then reiterate our previous positions on federal actions that could support the workforce, with a focus on the long-term care and behavioral health workforce.
