On August 1, NAMD sent a letter to the Secretary of Health and Human Services highlighting opportunities to improve the behavioral healthcare system. The letter includes policy recommendations to strengthen the behavioral health workforce, drive integration, meet the needs of children and young people, develop crisis response systems, address substance use and overdose, and ensure access to inpatient and specialty care.
