NAMD Issues Recommendations to Improve Medicaid Program Integrity

Washington, DC – A position paper issued today by the National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) calls on federal policymakers to ensure that federal and state resources go to effective, high-value initiatives to strengthen the integrity of the Medicaid program. In addition to describing the landscape for Medicaid program integrity activities, the paper offers states’ perspective on the duplication and inefficiencies that currently exist.

Washington, DC -- NAMD submitted a statement for the record of a December 7, 2011, hearing "A Medicaid Fraud Victim Speaks Out: What's Going Wrong and Why?" The hearing was jointly convened by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's Subcommittee on Government Organization, Efficiency, and Financial Management and Subcommittee on Health Care, District of Columbia, Census, and the National Archives of the House.
