As the largest health insurer in the nation, the Medicaid program touches every aspect of the healthcare system, ranging as far as public and population health initiatives to long term services and supports and behavioral health. State Medicaid programs tackle key systems issues to facilitate communication between and among states, providers, managed care plans, and consumers. Medicaid must also ensure its systems and policies reflect intersections with other major health programs and are responsive to regulatory reporting requirements.

NAMD cultivates resources and analysis on many of the salient issues for our members. Our work is continually evolving to reflect the dynamic needs of Medicaid Directors, transformation in the health care marketplace and shifts in the federal policy agenda. We aim to provide insight into state activities in these diverse areas.
